"Intensive Korean Study" and toasting marshmallows :)

For the final session of our Korean class we went away for the weekend to Ganghwa Island. It was a really great weekend and after a rainy week the weather stayed beautiful for us all weekend. In fact that would be an understatement. It was an absolute scorcher! We were so lucky as it really would have ruined the weekend if it had rained.

As well as the "intensive Korean study" on the Saturday evening in which I constructed my very first lengthy and grammatically correct sentence in Korean, all by myself, may I add!! (토요일 저녁에 강화도에서 한국어를 공부했어요 -which means 'On Saturday evening I studied Korean at Ganghwa Island.') the weekend also included a stay at a really lovely pension, volunteer work on the farm (another first!) fun and games on the mud beach which unfortunately I couldn't partake in because of my ankle, an amazing BBQ dinner, a campfire with my first experience of toasted marshmallows (YES! SO AMAZING!) drunken fun around said campfire, lots of new friends, a very cold night's sleep as I was the last one in the room and there was no bedding left (that will teach me for staying up too late and drinking! ..or perhaps not!)  and another amazing meal for breakfast the next morning followed by more Korean study in the form of a speed quiz! All in all another fabulous weekend!
