Moonlight Rainbow Fountain :)

A couple of weeks back Ruth and I finally, after wanting to see it for ages, saw the Moonlight Rainbow Fountain show at Banpo Bridge. During the day this bridge is just like any of the other many bridges that cross over the Han River but at night it becomes a spectacular sight to see; a beautiful showcase of bright lights, water shooting in an array of different directions and an accompaniment of vibrant music. It is the world's longest fountain bridge and was built in 2009 in order to "further beautify the city and showcase Seoul's eco-friendliness as the water is pumped directly from the river itself and continuously recycled."  Oh Se-hoon- the Mayor of Seoul at that time.

We took a little picnic to eat in the park (not that there was much of a park there as we discovered when we arrived!) to have for tea before hand and so we could make the
most of the beautiful weather and watch, what turned out to be, a particularly beautiful sunset. We sat by the bridge that we thought was the right bridge only to find later that we were wrong. As we were eating, Ruth joked, "Imagine if it's not this bridge and it's that one instead." And sure enough as 8 o'clock rolled around and nothing happened, we noticed that that fountain had started at the other bridge in the distance. Luckily there was another show an hour later so we finished eating and drinking our cidersthat Ruth had found at Home Plus on her wayand walked slowly further along the river to the correct bridge in time for the next show. All in all, a very pleasant evening. Cheers to the rest of our time in Korea! :)
Our picnic tea :)
Favourite time of the day :)
The Korean ladies next to us gave us some of their food!
So kind. And the pork was amaze.ing!

And Ruth managed to get the bottle tops off with her own bare hands!

Just before the show and with Seoul Tower in the background :)
