Seoul much fun!!

The one great thing I got out of my ankle injury was two new friends; heightening my belief, more than ever before, that everything does indeed happen for a reason. Since finishing my physiotherapy treatment at the hospital just before Christmas, I've really missed going there every day and chatting to and catching up with my friends 아람 (Ah ram) and 종영 (Jong-young) because as strange as it sounds, those daily hospital visits were a lot of fun for me and something I began to look forward to each day! So as the three of us got on so well, we decided that we would stay in touch and meet up from time to time despite being finished with the hospital. And sure enough, just before my mum's visit, we met up and had our first night our together away from the hospital and away from the patient/physiotherapist dynamic to friends just having a good time. And what a fabulous time we had! Despite the fact we're from two very different countries and cultures and we don't share the same first language, our friendship is very easy and fun and when I'm with them, it feels like we've been friends forever

Highlights of the night:
1. Meeting the girls at Olympic Park Stadium for what felt like the first time in a while.
2. Watching my first ever badminton match (well, the last few minutes of it anyway!)
3. My first ever meeting with a famous person; Korean badminton player, and Olympic gold medalist,
이용대 (Lee Young-dae)...!!!!!!!
4. Having my photo taken with him and him signing an autograph for me :)
5. All expenses paid shabu-shabu dinner courtesy of the badminton tournament physio therapy department (Jong-young's bosses) complete with LOTS of soju :)
6. Noraebang and singing the 'English parts' of K-pop songs with the girls.
7. Birthday cake for Jong-young's birthday the next day.
8. Missing the last subway, staying out later and the three of us going back to Ah ram's family's home for a sleep-over :)
9. The lovely welcome Ah ram's family gave me when we arrived (at about 1am!!) Especially lovely as an invitation to a Korean home isn't something you get very often.
10. Staying up really late and chatting about EVERYTHING!
11. First ever breakfast in a Korean family home :)
12. Leaving with Jong-young and being more excited than ever about my mum's arrival later that day! :)
